3d paintings

French artist known as Shaka creates amazing three-dimensional paintings.
He sculpts the shapes of familiar objects directly on the canvas and covers them with layers of paint to create the desired 3D effect
Shaka
the extreme detail is what drew me to these because of the careful planning and time consuming work that was put into these to make them beautiful.

3D Art
i also love the use of external space beyond the canvas making the image come to life
3D
this one is my favorite of the bunch, it seems almost devious because of the design on the person clashed against the red background making a bold statement
also hes holding what appears to be a mask.... Im curious as to what the artist would say about this painting. it reminds me of someone who is removing there mask to show himself
Gehard Demetz is a mystery artist, the only thing that we know about him is that he was born in 1972, Italy, and that he currently lives in the mountains of Selva Gardena. does more need to be said when he creates works of art that are so serene and yet have a dark feeling to them. his absolutely marvelous wooden sculptures evoke a sadness to me, the children depicted in these sculptures seem to take the playful innocence from children and shed new light on a otherwise stereotypical model . They look at you and it seems that they are inviting you to torture them. Or to pay for having tortured them in the past, as if they were the habitants of a forgotten orphanage where bad things were happening.

children are our future

'in the playroom' by canadian photographer and art director jonathan hobin
the words that are used to describe children... cute, innocent, adorable etc. but what we don't think is that these cute adorable and innocent spawns can turn into anyone
playtime is all fun and games until someone gets hurt, an environment can sculpt and mold a child, i think if we paid a little more attention to the preliminary problems we wouldnt live in a world with so many.

MEGATHERIUM
his name is Andre De Freitas a photographer and illustrator. he studied at Full Sail University and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation. he focuses more on illustration as he explains on his website.

these images are a part of his double exposure section, they stood out to me because of the multiple things going on in the same still image. he manages to match the subjects closely although being very vastly different. as in the picture above where the woman almost emulates the same somber effect as the dark cold architecture.  i also love this image because the city is always a cool place where "all the action happens" people come visit and trive off the energy, aswell as smooking, itsa cool thing to do and an addict will thrive from it aswell

art collection #3

unfortunately when it comes to graffiti most times an artist is either an alias or unknown but these pictures have brouught color and beauty to otherwise lifeless and dull city walls.

At first glance its a jumble of colors and obscure images......But with a new light It can bring together the elements and the idea of the artist. With red light to illuminate the busy walls it simplifies the image Although i do find it interesting that the red light extracts the images more than the other two hues, is it because of the color pallet, or the saturation of the color?
either way i love the idea of making multiple art pieces into one and also creating multiple pieces by changing the environment. enhancing the idea that art can change and develop depending on how you present it....perception is everything :)

reverse graffiti

mirror your idea of what graffiti is, where the artist’s pallet are now cleaning materials. and where the paint becomes dirt wind, rain, pollution and decay. This new technique removes dust or dirt rather than adding paint. Some find it intriguing, beguiling, beautiful and imaginative, whereas others look upon it in much the same way as traditional graffiti – a complete lack of respect for the law, which is kinda ironic if community service is considered picking up trash off the side of the road. Reverse graffiti challenges ideals and perceptions while at the same time shapes and changes the environment for the better. i think Mr. clean would be proud. plus its cheaper

ambiguity

The saying things arnt always as they seem always comes to mind when i see ambiguous art. I love to look into the datail of a picture to see the houses and the bark on the trees, but to look at it as a whole its some thing compleatly different. these are actual psychology theorys of how the mind percieves things as a whole or in parts.... which deffinitly can be expieranced while gazing upon a picture such as the one below.
this is a painting by Oleg Shuplyak a Ukrainian artist he paints "famous figures from art and fiction with landscapes and images from nature" states the huffington post.
His paintings have included such people as John Lennon, Pablo Picasso, Sigmund Freud, Charles Darwin, Paul Gauguin, Zeus and Uncle Sam.
this is one of my favorites by him it has a very homey and safe feel but the face is harse and unforgiving.... definitly a nice clash

before i die....

Before I die i want to see, expierance and change the world, create, imagine...
This is an interactive community art project done by Candy Chang"It creates a public space for contemplation and reminds us why we want to be alive in the world today"
she states on her website candychang.com
i think this is a amazing idea it takes an eye sore and turns it into something inspiring and beautiful. community is something lost in todays society, but this can help remmind people that humanity is important.
this has spread from just one house to multiple spots around the world.... i gues showing that candys thesis is effective when presented to the public.she has contemplated how can we better design our public spaces to share information, self-organize, and become effective agents in our communities. the fiest house was filled by the first day, its nice to know people in communitys want to participate.
i would love to see one of these in buffalo our town could deffinitly use a little inspiration :)
on her web site with help from the civic center you can order your own before i die kit which is super cool and makes this totaly accessable for anyone.

Art can be anything as long as the viewer perceives it that way...

Some times art can trick you i remember the first time i went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and saw a Davinci in person, it shocked me by its realism.

I love attention to detail and realism and the unexpected, Edgar Muller is a artist that uses perspective to give dimension and depth. He carefully plans out each step on huge scaled areas, to the left you can see one of the first steps in creating a piece.

He paints over large areas of urban public settings and transforms them to give a completely new appearance, thus challenging the perceptions of passers-by and observers.

at the end he has transformed the street into something completely new. i think that this brings life and energy to otherwise meek places.
